The permanent smile makeover

Correct blemishes, chips, stains & more

Are you looking for a smile makeover? Maybe Invisalign and teeth whitening won’t be able to fix your smile to your liking. It may be time to consider dental veneers, an extremely popular and durable cosmetic enhancement.

You deserve to smile with confidence, but chipped, crooked, or stained teeth might stop you from smiling wide. Veneers solve this problem by covering the front side of your teeth with a custom-made, thin tooth-colored shell.

What are dental veneers

By covering your entire top and/or bottom row of teeth, veneers instantly give you a beautiful, white, straight smile. Porcelain veneers are made from very thin pieces of porcelain custom-designed to fit over your existing teeth. This porcelain “shell” covers the entire front side of your teeth to create an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Many Your Bronx Dentist patients opt for veneers because they are custom-made to fit the contours of your natural teeth, they strengthen your teeth with impressive resilience, and they can be placed without any intrusive procedure.

What issues can veneers correct?

Veneers are quite versatile, so they can be used to fix a number of dental issues:

Discoloration

Cracks & chips

Small gaps in teeth

Minor misalignment

Worn-down enamel

As long as your teeth are not affected by severe decay, veneers offer the perfect solution to the unwanted aesthetic imperfections of your smile.

The porcelain veneer procedure

The dental veneer procedure can take a few visits depending on each patient's individual needs. Visits generally consist of a planning the procedure and then placing the veneers.

Consultation & Planning

Once you've decided to move forward with the porcelain veneer procedure, you and your dentist will move forward with the planning stage. You will be able to discuss size, shape and the shade of your new veneers. A second visit will generally be scheduled to start prepping.

Dental Veneer Prepping

Prepping & temporaries

The prepping phase of the dental veneer procedure consists of removing a thin layer of enamel to make room for the porcelain veneer. Impressions will be take and sent to the lab for processing, and temporary caps will be used while you wait for the veneers to be created.

The final visit in the veneer procedure consists of removing the temporary caps you've been wearing for the past 1-2 weeks. The permanent veneers are then put into place and secured with a permanent cement. You can now enjoy your amazing new smile!

How much do veneers cost?

Affordable payment plans are available!

Like any dental procedure or smile makeover, the cost of veneers will vary based upon your specific needs. Traditional porcelain veneers often cost more than composite veneers, but they also last twice as long, are stain resistant, and provide the closest resemblance to our natural tooth enamel.

We offer plenty of options to help with the cost such as CareCredit and other dental financing. Simply schedule a consultation with our Bronx cosmetic dentist to discuss the factors that may influence the cost of your dental veneers.

Dental Veneer FAQs

Find the answers to your frequently asked questions

Treat your veneers just as you treat your regular teeth. This includes daily brushing, flossing, and use of a non-abrasive toothpaste. If you want to keep your dental veneers as white as possible, try to limit your coffee, tea, and wine intake.

The lifetime of your veneers depends upon a few factors, especially the type of veneer you select and how you care for your veneers at home. Porcelain veneers can last up to 15 or 20 years with optimal care. Be sure to brush gently, floss daily, and avoid hard foods that risk cracking a veneer.

Whitening is a great treatment choice if your teeth will respond to a whitening treatment. Many patients find that their discoloration is unresponsive to traditional whitening techniques, and others have discoloration that simply can’t be reversed. Porcelain veneers achieve permanent whitening results by creating a new layer on each affected tooth.
